Crochet Pansy Pattern

This crochet pansy pattern is a fun way to spruce up any project! Crochet pansies are delicate little flowers that look great on just about anything from a lapel to a hair accessory.

This pattern has instructions for making the flower in two sizes, as well as leaves to complete the look. The pattern is worked in a continuous round and is relatively simple for those who are a bit more experienced in the art of crochet.

Notes

-The pansy pattern is worked in a continuous round and joined at the end of each round.
-The leaves are worked back and forth in rows.
-The instructions for the small flower and the large flower are the same; the difference is the size of your hook and the number of stitches in each round.
-The leaves may be worked in a slightly different yarn than the flower if desired.

Small Flower

Round 1: Ch 5, joining with a slip stitch to form a ring, 10 dc in the ring, join with a slip stitch to the beginning dc. (10 AD)

Round 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each st, join with a slip stitch to the beginning dc. (20 AD)

Round 3: Ch 2, * dc in the first st, 2 dc in the next st *, repeat from * around, join with a slip stitch to the beginning dc. (30 AD)

Round 4: Ch 2, * dc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 dc in the next st *, repeat from * around, join with a slip stitch to the beginning dc. (40 AD)

Round 5: Ch 2, * dc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 dc in the next st *, repeat from * around, join with a slip stitch to the beginning dc. (50 AD)

Round 6: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join with a slip stitch to the beginning sc. (50 SC)

Leaves (make 2)

Row 1: Ch 13, dc in the 4th ch from the hook, dc in each of the next 4 sts, hdc in each of the next 3 sts, sc in each of the next 3 sts, sl st in the last st. (12 sts)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each of the next 3 sts, hdc in each of the next 3 sts, dc in each of the next 3 sts, tr in the last st. (12 sts)

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

Using the long tail from ea leaf, sew the leaves onto the back of the flower.
Weave in all ends.
